Our approach to business is quite simple, we want to provide you with very finest quality home renovation and craftsmanship available anywhere while making the experience as pleasant and stress-free as we possibly can. In short we strive for perfection from the vantage point of the discerning customer.
Our Story
Our story is an unusual one in that we didn’t set out to be in the home remodeling business. In fact, many of our team have had very successful and fulfilling careers in large multi-national corporations. Through a curious sequence of events, and frustration after frustration with contractors, we decided we could and would do something about that. And so Home Exterior Systems, LLC (HES) was born.
Over a decade, and hundreds of jobs later, we learned so much. Among the lessons learned is that homeowners are all different and many aren’t planning to keep or live in their homes. These homeowners are generally not focused on quality craftsmanship, but rather highly price-conscious, and only need things to seem “good enough.” This homeowner is generally looking to kick the can down the road, and just the consequences become someone else’s problem. While there is nothing wrong with shopping around for the best price, it is important to understand that you get what you pay for as with most things in life.
Exterior Artisans is craftsmanship personified. The completed work far exceeds the sum of all manufacturer warranties. Fit and finish look is demonstrably superior to the typical “Chuck in a Truck” contractor. EA’s customers know what they want, they want the best crews, the finest materials, and they want their homes to not only look terrific, but they want them to hold up to the test of time.
EAs customers expect fit and finish to be impeccable and they expect the contractor to stand behind their work one hundred percent. The discerning customer understands custom designs and specialized materials may take longer to get, but the wait will be well worth the longer lead time.
Family Owned and Operated
We feel that it’s important for our customers to know who exactly they are dealing with. We live in the Greater Houston TX area just like you our customers and we feel that it is important to tell people a little about ourselves and our background. We were not born into contracting per se, but we have been in the business for some time now, enough time in fact, for you to have absolute confidence that we’ll be here for decades to follow. The truth is we love this business. We love helping our neighbors get the look they want and the peace of mind that comes with a nice looking and securely built home designed to stand up to the harsh gulf climate.
Vicky McCollim
If ever there was a multi-hat donning voice to HES, it’s co-owner Vicky McCollim. Nearly all customers speak with her at some point in her oversight of all customer, and vendor, relations. With over 15 years in the home improvement field, the down-to-earth Vicky has a keen understanding of the business, and how to help people get what they want without frustration. Even as busy as she is, her growing family, and her faith, are always a very high priority. Her many talents include home decorating, and cooking – affectionately called “the sandwich magician.”
Pat McCollim
Patrick “Pat” McCollim is co-owner of HES, wearing many hats including the President and CFO. Pat brings a high level of sophistication and leadership, rare in the remodeling world, honed over three decades in finance and new business development for one of the largest companies in the world. He sees great opportunities for customers to get the best possible results, value, and overall satisfaction by focusing on, and measuring, what’s important to them. Driven by his family, his faith, and the overwhelming desire to do things right, Pat refuses to settle for less than excellence in all things.
Caleb McCollim
HES Partner & Co-owner Caleb McCollim has a degree in Finance and has used his education in an eclectic mix of opportunities. He spent four years abroad teaching Business English at a premier University in Beijing, China. Caleb has had the privilege to travel to 5 continents and over two dozen different countries and experience many diverse cultures. He brings unique knowledge and perspective of customer service dedicated to excellence to our team. He has developed the art of listening to his customers, which results in connecting customers with the right finished product. We are proud to have him as a member of our team.
